Jumping In

I'm jumping in to Facebook. I'm not terribly social by nature. In fact, my favorite T-shirt reads, "You read my shirt. That's enough social interaction for one day." But, I really need to get on board and keep on learning.

I'm going to give it a try. Maybe since it isn't face-to-face it will be easier. I'll blog about it next week.

  2. I finally took the plunge and joined Facebook. When I got home I had five people asking to be my friend. I was more than a little surprised. I'm eager to hear about your experience with Facebook. I can't see me using this tool, but you never know.

  3. Yeah, I love Think Geek. It is one of my favorite sites. I love all that stuff! They have an office supply of caffienated gum. I used it to get me through my Master's Degree program.

  4. It is weird having to ask, "will you be my friend?" It feels like I'm in the first grade again. But it is cool hearing from people. I found some of my SBISD co-workers and some of my Alief co-workers. It was really cool.

  5. People get very senstive if you decline them as a Facebook/MySpace friend. That's usually a sign that they need mroe RL friends.

  6. "People get very sensitive if you decline them..." I'll say!

I'm learning about the netiquette behind Facebook. There is this application called SuperPoke where you can send some sort of tiny, virtual action to another Facebook member. I was only on Facebook for two days when I angered my brother and he removed me from his friend list!

I was learning how to use the SuperPoke application, and I sent him a karate chop. Apparently it is not okay to virtually karate chop your brother.

He since has re-added me as a friend. won't make that mistake again!
